They are usually inexpensive and they can be found pretty easily online, at party or craft stores or at cake supply shops. See why I love them? Hey you could even use them for decorating cupcakes!!

caprese blt easylunchboxes giveaway

If you poke around this blog at all it won’t take you very long to figure out that Easylunchboxes are one of my absolute favorite containers. I use them regularly and I personally own 12 containers (3 sets) which are actually mine and were not provided for review (so no disclaimer at the bottom of the post)! I also own a cooler and a set of mini dippers. I’m a definite fan. Actually to be perfectly upfront it is the very container that was the inspiration for changing the way that I pack lunch (iPackLunch get it lol?)! Before I found the Easylunchboxes gallery I was guilty of low nutrition, high waste lunches and well, frequent lunch time meals from the dollar menu. You know what I mean! I thought I didn’t have time for anything else. These containers changed all that for me!

There is a reason after all that these are the #1 best-selling lunchboxes on Amazon.com!

With back to school days on the very short horizon I’d highly recommend picking up a set of these in classics or brights to be ready for school lunch packing! (In full disclosure links contained within this post are affiliate links and I may earn a commission on any sales but opinions are my own.)

Why this container for back to school?

This container is a great size for holding all the lunch. No disposable baggies or individual packages required! That = cost effective and eco-friendly! Not to mention no extra packages for kiddos to have to open!

That brings me to the next point, these are easy to open for all ages! The trade off is that they are not leak proof. This is not a huge issue as sauces, dips etc can be packaged in a smaller, leak tight container and carried in the same cooler.

You can portion the food for proper or desired nutritional intake! (low calorie or correct amounts of protein/grain/produce etc)

The smaller compartments can be used to separate food for snack breaks versus food for lunch time.

The compartments allow food to stay separate for those picky eaters who don’t like their food to touch!

The containers are a great value. At $13.95 for a set of 4 that means each container is less than $3.50!

The cooler bag is great for all ages too! It can be jazzed up for smaller kids or used plain for older kids for whom the non embarrassment factor is important.

The cooler bag also allows the food to be carried flat which insures food will stay as you packed it!

Finally, Easylunchboxes as a company is a great source of inspiration for packing lunch! Whether you checkout the Easylunchboxes gallery, their Facebook page or their Pinterest Boards you will have a constant influx of ideas! Don’t forget to check out my ideas too!

Now let’s talk lunch…

Lunch#1 (pictured at top) – Caprese BLT sandwich (my recipe is featured over at Spryliving), sweet potato tortilla chips, apple slices, celery and a peanut butter greek yogurt fruit dip.

Lunch #2 (pictured above) – Pillsbury Pizza Scrolls (my instructions below), mango, snow peas and raw carrot chips.

Pillsbury Pizza Scroll Instructions

  • Roll out one can of Pillsbury Crescent rolls (rolls out as a rectangle shape, do not break at perforations)
  • Using a pastry brush spread on a thin layer of your favorite pizza sauce (consider putting pureed veggies in your sauce for extra nutrition)
  • With the long sides of the rectangle top and bottom in front of you (shorter sides right and left) sprinkle on grated mozzarella cheese. (You will roll the scrolls from the side closest to you, the filling will spread upward as you roll so you can skip sprinkling the cheese a couple inches from the top edge)
  • Layer on your pepperoni (turkey pepperoni used here) also skipping the last couple inches at the top
  • Starting at the long edge closest to you, roll the rectangle upward jelly roll style, the filling will spread upwards as you do. Do your best to keep the roll tight.
  • Cut your roll in 1 to 1-1/2 inch segments and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 10-14 minutes (keep an eye on the bottoms of the rolls) until the rolls have puffed up and begun browning
  • You can include extra pizza sauce for dipping

Wait… want one more reason to love Easylunchboxes? They have generously agreed to allow me to giveaway one set of their containers (you choose classics or brights) AND a cooler (your color choice). A total retail value of $21.90. Wow, right? Wouldn’t you love a set to pack your children for back to school? Just follow the instructions below to enter! Do note you must have a US shipping address to enter. You must comply with all terms and conditions of the giveaway or you will be disqualified. Winner will be randomly selected using Rafflecopter and notified via email. Winner will have 48 hours to respond. At that point if no response is received a new winner will be drawn.

Lunch QUADrupled: A Lunchbots Review & Giveaway!

Tuesday, July 30th, 2013

quad bts giveaway b

Officially summer is more then half over and we have all begun to turn our attention to the back to school season. For some of us this could not come soon enough! For others it just seems a little TOO soon! Whatever school of thought you are in there is no denying school will be in session soon! We all had better hit the stores!

In all seriousness, inevitably back to school season DOES mean a great spending spree! Many dollars will be spent on pencils, pens, notebooks, clothes, sneakers, backpacks, lunch bags and more! WAIT, don’t forget to budget for lunch containers because this will be the year you pack better, healthier lunches for your kiddos, right? Lunches your children will eat, right? Why not?! It is certainly a worthwhile investment! It does not have to be complicated. With the right containers it can even be fun! You may even be inspired to pack your own lunch.

So what is the right container? Admittedly, I do love me a lunch container but one of my favorite lunch box manufacturers is definitely Lunchbots. So when I was recently given an opportunity to review their Quad container, I was thrilled. I already own other Lunchbots products including the Trio, Duo, Uno and the condiment containers. Certainly I am well versed on this product line. As a matter of fact I previously reviewed the Trio on this blog. This time however, I am here to tell you a little bit about the Lunchbots Quad!

Made of a durable, food grade stainless steel, the 6″ x 5″ x 1.75″ lightweight Quad has four fixed compartments offering you quadruple the options for variety!

quad·ru·ple  adj.

1. Consisting of four parts or members.
2. Four times as much in size, strength, number, or amount.

Believe me, quadruple the variety is not an oversell! The combinations are near endless! Fruits, veggies, nuts, mini sandwiches, salads, lunch meats, olives, hard boiled eggs, pretzels, chips and so on… times four! Ha! Go poke around my blog for more ideas to fill a Lunchbots container! Personally I think these beautiful, shiny containers make everything look appealing but studies do actually confirm that a larger variety of food offered to children is more likely to be eaten. That makes the Quad a clear winner for back to school lunches!

The eco friendly Quad containers are 100% reusable, 100% recyclable and free from BPA. They are top rack dishwasher safe although I do recommend hand washing the colored lids. The compartments control portions and allow the food to remain intact as you packed! These containers do not stain, they do not hold scents and they do not rust. Your children will enjoy these containers for many school years to come and so will you! The Quad fits well in most standard sized lunch bags and is available with either a lime green or stainless steel lid. The Quad is also now available with a yellow silicone band exclusively at Lunchbots.

Just when you think I have run out of good things to say… wait here is one more! Lunchbots has generously agreed to give one of my readers a Quad with a lime green lid just like the one pictured in this post! A retail value of $20.99! The perfect prize for the back to school season! Just follow the instructions below to enter for your chance to win!

Note: winner must abide by the terms and conditions listed below. You must have a United States shipping address to win. Entries outside of the United States will be deleted. Winner will be selected randomly by Rafflecopter and notified via email. Winner must respond within 48 hours or a new winner will be selected. Product cannot be substituted, winner will receive a Lunchbots Quad with a lime green lid (as shown).
