Same Lunch, Different Kids… Crazy Days!

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

I pack 5 sometimes 6 lunches a day! Yes, you read that correctly, A DAY! I have a big family and packing lunch is important to me so I make it happen! I enjoy it even! It is a form of creativity for me like scrapbooking is for many people. Perhaps you have noticed that it is something that I enjoy? I have to be honest though! Sometimes I’m busy or just plain tired and I cut corners to make it faster and simpler for me. Sometimes I go to bed early and sometimes I wake up late or I am running around just trying to make sure everybody has a clean pair of socks!

I will pack leftovers most days for my husband and I. Identical lunches at that! Then usually I try to customize the lunch boxes for the kids. A special creation for each child to discover. They are not always fancy or themed but they are packed with care and love! However on those crazy days I just mentioned, I just line the containers up assembly style, chop up something quick and everybody gets the same thing! Today…. it was one of those days! Hey everybody had clean socks! Haha! So there!

Lunches for the kids today!

  • Peanut butter wheat cracker sandwiches
  • Pretzels
  • Orange slices
  • Cucumber
  • Grapes
  • Blueberries
  • One (Toddler Trevor’s below) had the remaining veggie sticks thrown in to use them up!
Now that you know my secret I hope you’ll still come back for the next post ;) !

They’re Back…

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

They’re Back! By they, I mean the Easy Lunch Boxes of course!

You know I love them and feature many of my lunches for the grown ups (my husband and myself) in these containers regularly. You might remember my “Hey, where did you get those containers” post? I say feature but the truth is I use those containers D-A-I-L-Y! I love the compartment sizes and it holds a good amount of food for hungry adults (or kids)!

Due to a surging demand they were sold out for the past several weeks but I am pleased to announce that they are back in stock and available to order. If you had been thinking about making a purchase now is the time! 4 containers come in a set, so I might break open the package and give individual containers away as presents to teachers and coworkers! What do you think? I better go order some before they are sold out again!

My grownup lunch above (easylunchboxes container):

  • Corndog muffins
  • Rainbow of fresh veggies
  • Greek yogurt veggie dip
  • Cinnamon flax walnuts layered over cheddar bunnies

Brendan’s (10 year old’s) lunch today featured in a Goodbyn container:

  • Corndog muffins
  • Blueberries
  • Pretzel crisps
  • Strawberries
  • Broccoli
  • Horizon Organic chocolate milk

Trevor’s (almost age 3) lunch today featured in a Lunchbots Duo container:

  • Peanut butter frog stamped sandwich coins
  • Cheese
  • Broccoli
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries

Oh and to make corndog muffins? Bake in a greased mini muffin pan and simply add about a 1-2 inch slice of your favorite hot dog to your favorite corn muffin recipe! Serve with ketchup if your family members are dippers!
